"Is the camping straight or left or right?"

We're going camping today. The first thing Celeste said when she woke up (after, of course, "Dada! I want you to come cuddle me!") is:

C: Is the camping far, far away?

Me: Nope. Less than an hour away.

C: Is the camping straight or left or right?

Me: Well, we'll go straight for a long time, and then it'll be on the right.

C: I like to turn right.

Me: How come?

C: I don't know. *pause* I like rights. I don't like left-es.

Me: What about backwards?

C: *silly voice* Noooooooooooooooooooooo!

Are we there yet?

Me: lily's gonna come see you!

Celeste: yay! Is Lily here yet?

Me: nope.

Celeste: *5 seconds later* is Lily here yet?

Me: not yet.

Celeste: *5 seconds later* I'm gonna get my stool and look.

And there she stands. Lily is her best friend ever. It doesn't matter that they just saw eachother two days ago, or that we've seen lots of other people since then. It's Lily!

Blueberries...

Me: What do you want for breakfast?

Celeste: CEREAL!!

Me: Okay, and what fruit do you want with it?

Celeste: Blueberries!!!

Me: We don't have any blueberries.

Celeste: Why?

Me: Because we ate them all.

Celeste: Go to the store and buy some more blueberries.

Me: I will next time I go shopping, but not right now.

Celeste: Why?

Me: Because we're eating breakfast now and getting ready to go to school. I'll cut you a nectarine instead.

Celeste: Okay. *after a bit* I want to talk to Mama.

Me: Okay, we'll call her.

*ring*

Celeste: *on the phone* Hi, Mama! *puts on her sad and guilt inducing face* Dada doesn't have any blueberries. *pause* We're eating .... *to me* what's this called? ... nectarines instead. *more sad guilt face*
